New PM Andy Burnham Reshuffles Government With Key Cabinet Appointments
The newly elected UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham is setting up his cabinet at 10 Downing Street. Shabana Mahmood will keep her position as Home Secretary and carry on with her big changes in the asylum and immigration systems, despite rumors that suggested she may be named as Chancellor for a little while. On the other hand, John Healey, the former Defence Secretary, has been made Chancellor, allowing him to pay the army after he resigned from the Treasury due to cuts in budgets. Ed Miliband will serve as Foreign Secretary, considering it the biggest honor of his life, while Angela Rayner and Lucy Powell have joined Downing Street too.
